Good Weather = Happy Horses!
The weather here has been great, aside from all those crazy storms. We barely missed two tornados, it was a little scary for a few minutes on that night. It flooded pretty bad in the pasture, but all was fine other wise. All of my boys are growing up! Banner is doing fantastic, he is such a nice colt! All of them are really good colts, which is odd, having all four be so good. No offense to the horses, but sometimes you aren't so lucky. Fixation had a double ovulation, great, so we will have to fix that. I am just praying that we will pinch one, and she will stay pregnant. Everyone else is pregnant, so, if all goes well with Fixation we should have SIX babies due next year, wow, that is a lot of work.... lol. Have a great Sunday! Taylor
It seems as though...
Banner is growing in a flaxen mane and tail! It is very blonde, especially his mane. He should look soooo cute when it grows all the way out, right now it looks like he forgot to color his mane, as those blonde roots are showing! LOL. Like he could care less right? Today we checked miss Fixation, and she should be a breeder Monday, and Scottie didn't ovulate yet.... so we bred her again today. All of the pregnant mares are still pregnant, not that we expected any different, but better safe than sorry with mares! I wormed Fletcher today, it was apple flavored, so he didn't mind to much. He stood perfectly still, and tasted it for a minute, then started putting his upper lip up like, "Yuck, what is this stuff?" They are all getting so big! Taylor
Breeding Update
Hey guys. Ok, so we bred Scottie yesterday, and Fixation will be bred probably on Friday. We had bred her on foal heat, and she didn't take, but no big deal with performance horses being born late in the year. Scottie was bred to Image of Kid, and Fix will be bred back to I Got Charisma. All of the foals are doing great, Leo has a bit of a cold it seems, but other wise they are all growing like weeds! I have been trying to come up with some really good registered names for all of them, so I will gather them up and let you guys help me out! Ok so remember here are the lists of studs the mares were or are going to bred too: Lady~ Kids Classic Style (AQHA)Sis, (embryo into Abby),~ Mr Yella Fella(AQHA)Missy~ Image of Kid(AQHA)Ruth~ Hes Tee Totally Cool(AQHA/APHA)Scottie~ Image of Kid(AQHA)Fixation~ I Got Charisma(APHA)Classi, maybe....?????
Updated Pics of Banner!!!!
Updated Pics of Fletcher
Ok all! Here are the long awaited Pics of the three boys, couldn't get any pics of Omaha... darn. Wish I could have, he is looking fantastic too. But, this is my boy Fletcher! He has just become the kindest foal I have ever meet. His spot is "growing", lol, it is a big spot, you probably can't tell from these shots though, darn. He is "THE" hunter horse. Definite stud prospect. I love him to death! His sire is here. Labels: Fletcher
May the "horse" be with you....
Hey guys! Wow, the weather here is fantastic! So beautiful. The horses are enjoying it too. All the boys are doing fine. We wormed Banner the other day, it was so funny, he seemed to enjoy it. LOL, he is a funny horse. Banner is by far the biggest colt (out of Leo and Fletcher), yet, he is the biggest baby and is the biggest momma's boy ever. Ruth has been confirmed back in foal to Hes Tee Totally Cool, yaaaa!!!! I just love the cross between those two, man, Banner is an awesome colt...ummm why couldn't he have be a filly??? LOL. Like it matters when you have such a nice foal. Omaha didn't quiet enjoy being wormed as much as Banner, but he didn't fight it. Classi was turned out in the 15 acre "big pasture", as we call it, with Missy/Omaha, Scout, Heidi, Lady, and Abby. I was concerned that something would happen, as in her getting beat up. But surprisingly, nothing did. She just started grazing, allowing everyone to sniff her and that was it. She is just a part of the herd now, but, she wisely keeps her distance from "The Boss", Missy. lol. We will preg-check Fixation next week. We missed Scottie's foal heat, opps, so she hasn't been rebred yet. We decided to try and breed her on the foal heat, just because she went so late. So far we have Lady (Kids Classic Style), Abby (embryo from Sis/Mr Yella Fella), Missy (Image of Kid), and Ruth (Hes Tee Totally Cool) all confirmed in foal for next year!!!! Hopefully, next week that will make five mares! Talk to all of you later. Oh, I am trying to find a really cool original reg. name for Fletcher, any ideas? Taylor
Happy Easter!
Hope everyone is having a great Easter! We are here, lots of cool weather though! All of the babies are doing fantastic. They are growing into some of the nicest colts we have ever had, I am really impressed with all four of them. Sorry I haven't update in a few, just haven't been on the computer! I will see you later! Taylor
You know, if you did more riding and less talking you might start winning some races.
All the horses are doing great. Hank's (I Got Charisma's owners), the Jarvis', came to look at Fletcher today. They really like him, said he is marked perfectly. Fletcher was so funny, we were all in the stall and he just couldn't decide who to play with first, decisions, decisions. Then I was hiding behind the stall door, and he would creep up slowly, then I would jump out. He would jump, buck, and retreat, then come back around like a puppy or kitten. I have just been exhausted the past few days, not really sure why, but I haven't had a lot of time to spend with Leo. You can tell he is curious, but just not quiet sure what to make of me. LOL. I will talk to yall later. Taylor
His Name IS......
Leo. I finally gave into the name, lol. I may not be a fan of the name, but, now I can't see him as anything else, LOL. He is so funny, loves to run and play, and is really curious, so he has been sniffing me out, hehehe. Fletcher and Banner are so funny, they love to nip at each other, they are adorable together. Guys I am so happy, All the foals are doing great, Thanks again for all your prayers! Taylor
PICS!!!!
Well, my boy and Scottie are HOME! He is so beautiful, and healthy. Built just like Banner, but the are totally different in coloring, lol. He is going to be a dark bay, already has dark rings around his eyes. I am hoping he isn't too afraid of people, after all this moving around. Hopefully He will be fine, now, just needs a name! Taylor (Lots more Pics Below!)
They are Coming Home!
Ok, if everything is a go, Scottie and her colt (no name yet, hehehe) should be coming home this evening/afternoon. I will have lots of pics of the site later tonight! Thank you all so much for your prayers and kind words. It feels like this colt was born last week, these past two days have been so long. Unfortunately things like this happen, but thankfully we have an awesome vet and a tough mare and foal! Thank You again, Taylor
