The Karate Kid or Horse...

Wax on wax off.... So we had a little wax this morning, we are making progress!!!! Ruth's bag is huge, and I think her belly has dropped down, meaning she is positioning the foal. I say "I think" because she is extremely large, and it is very difficult to see her pelvic bones as it is, but I am fairly confident. So, I would guess we might be a couple of days away, remember this is a guess, I have been wrong many times! She is much more comfortable in the stall, so I am hoping that this will encourage her to feel safe foaling in the stall. I have a feeling that if she foals in the stall, it will be between two and four in the morning, nobody said it is a fun job watching mares! LOL. So, we will just have to wait and find out. Well, Omaha is growing into a fine upstanding gentleman, such a nice colt, I love him to death. I think he will be so spook proof when he is a show horse. For example: We have a huge blue tarp in their paddock, under a shed, with tons of hay under it. Anyways, when the wind is blowing like crazy, it blows up and dances around. Well, Omaha tries to stand on it, and investigate what is going on, all the while Missy is as far away from the scary tarp as possible. Hehehe. Fixation is in that stage of "bag building" where one side fills up some, at a time. So, today she was uneven, but a good size bag. Ruth better hurry up, or Fix is going to catch her on the back stretch. And Scottie is not doing very much, maybe a tiny bit, nothing to dramatic though, which is good, since I don't need three mares foaling so close together. Have a great night, have fun watching Ruth!
