Missy
Missy has begin to show signs she is near foaling. She has had wax on her teats the last 2 days. It could be anyday. Her due date is January 4th but my guess is she will not make it until then. But I have been wrong so many times that no one should listen to me. Nature seems to have her own course and this is Missy's first foal so feel free to make your own guess of when the baby will be born. I say Sunday night.

Hmmmm... First foal, wax for two days. I'll go for Monday night and everyone should listen to me because I'm female and we are Never WRONG. ;)

I changed my mind, I think missy will go tonight. I just went down to the barn and she wasn'very happy. I am so indecsive!!!!

I'm thinking tonight after every one goes to bed. I've been watching and when she looks about to get something going people show up and she kinda stops every thing. So i'm going for as soon as she gets some alone time, and all she has to think about is OMG my tummy hurts :) I cant wait to see what the baby looks like... I'm so excited!!!!!!

My dad still thinks missy won't go tonight, but she is definently showing uncomfortable signs. I am so excited, but it is killing me just siting up at the house watching her, instead of being down there with her. I can't wait, I hope it is a girl, but have a feeling it might be a colt. I wonder if it will be black and white or sorrel and white?

I think this mare just needs a little time on her own. When she is pacing, and showing signs, she needs to get into her own state of mind, and concentrate on foaling.
I would guess she will have it either very late tonight, or early tomorrow. Hard to tell as she is maiden, but someone should be close at hand to help her if she needs it. My mares first baby was extremly hard for her to foal. If I wasn't there, I would have lost both.

I am watching animal planet and Missy. My Dad has slept through 2 births, so I am usually in charge of night watches. Even though I have seen many births, I always want to be there. We have had to pull out a few foals, especially with maiden mares. I just dimmed the lights in the barn, I hope that will make Missy a little more comfortable. Man, those flys on the camera are killing me!

I'm East of Columbus, Lynn. Raining and nasty as usual for this time of year. My poor mare is stuck in the barn for the next day or two. She'll be very happy to get back out to play.
Black and White fillies are the best! :) Maybe she'll look like her Mom. I'll say she'll go today.
